I think one of the interesting bits was talking about retrospectives in regard to seeing work in the context of the progression of the artist body of work as a whole.

I think this is why artists on this site are encouraged to post their entire body of work so that people can view by year and see the progress of the artist. I personaly really like that feature

Thank you for this Blaine, I really enjoyed the interview. We did a piece about Chuck Close at college and I found him and his style very fascinating, what a brilliant man.

I agree. Some of the first paintings I really appreciated were the huge portraits of his at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. They own a few of his best works.
